A Druid is another Hybrid class that World of Warcraft has to offer. This is most likely one of the nicest classes to level up because of the shape shifting abilities, a huge variety of spells and abilities and more and this WoW Druid Guides will share with you more about that. The Druid also has one of the most powerful buffs in the game called Mark of The Wild. The Druids are part of the Cenarion Circle, a group that serves and protects nature and consists from mainly Night Elves and Druids. You can only choose the Night Elf or Tauren race if you want to play a Druid.

Druids can be separated into three categories:

Balance Druids

Balance Druids use a combination of Nature and Arcane spells to deal a lot of damage. They are the spell casting version of the Druids and at should follow the Balance talent tree in order to maximize their DPS. There are a lot of WoW Druid Guides out there that give you several different talent trees but you basically don’t have much choices. You can either spend all your talent points on the Balance talent tree or choose to put a few in the Restoration tree to become a better Shape shifter and get some extra mana regeneration. The Balance Druid obtains some nice AoE spells but can also do a lot of damage on single targets. They can Shape Shift into a Moonkin which gives them and their party members critical strike bonus with spells, haste rating and the Moonkin himself some bonus armor.

Feral Druids

Feral Druids should follow the Feral Combat talent tree in order to be able to tank and DPS properly. A Druid is able to Shape Shift in Bear and Dire Bear form to gain a lot of Armor and health which will allow him to be a great tank. A Druid in Bear Form will have to use rage to be able to use his abilities and gains several attacks which do a nice amount of damage and create a high amount of threat. A Feral Druid is also able to go into Cat form and deal great amounts of damage. The style of combat of a Druid in Catform is pretty similar to a Rogue’s play style, including combo points, finishing moves and Energy use.

As a Feral Druid you are able to both tank or DPS in dungeons and raids and are specialized in melee combat. You are still able to come out of your form however and throw a heal or two on yourself which is nice while leveling.

Restoration Druid

A Restoration Druid focuses on the healing aspect of the Druid and is a very good healer class. A Restoration Druid is known for his Heal over Time (Hot) spells but also has several instant heals that serve can be used when their target is losing hit points too fast. With the WoTLK expansion they have also gained a smaller heal called Nourish and now they are really nice all round healers. The good thing about a Restoration Druid is that he can’t go out of mana. They are Spirit based characters, meaning that they need a lot of Spirit and this is why they have a lot of mana regeneration. The Form available only to Restoration Druid, The Tree of Life, is great because it lowers the mana cost of some healing spells and increases the healing done to party and raid members. This build is not really suited for leveling but it is great to heal with if you plan to do a lot of instances, raids or arenas.

There are a lot more Druid guides related infos available on the web. Just browse around a bit so you learn all there is to know about this cool class. But I really recommend you to check this out, as I found it to be a very comprehensive guide on WoW Class, including Druid.

You can read a bit more about Druid Class at Wow Druid Leveling where I talk on the professions that a Druid should consider right.

There are 9 character classes in world of warcraft and each one of them has its own unique play style and role within the process of leveling and in end-game content. The steps to success are focusing on your character’s talent builds, gear and bringing together the best of all skills – a combination of expertise in PvP, raiding and leveling in tandem.

It is very important that you know how to correctly build your character’s talents, skill executions and gear, and this is exactly what you will learn in the Warcraft Pros guides. This aspect of the game is just as important as learning how to level and make gold fast.

Once you really get into the Warcraft Pros Guide, you’ll really learn how the mechanics of each class works. You’ll see how each class fits into a group, how to best earn gold for your class, and how to play your class in PvP. The guides go through all the different abilities and spells available to each class, plus they have popular talent builds and outline which races make the best of each class. You’ll also learn what your class’s weaknesses are so you can best compensate for them. The guide also teaches you how to master your class in PVP so you can dominate other players. The strategies are easy to understand so I did not have a problem becoming great in the battlegrounds and arenas. This Guide aims to change all that, providing every Wow player with detailed information about each class and how to maximize their power.

You may find that purchasing only one Warcraft Pros Class Guide is too difficult because you play two, three, or even six or seven classes. Which guide to you buy, then? Fortunately, the Warcraft Pros Class Guide is offering an entire collection of their books. You can get the guides to all ten classes for one small price.

They can summon demons from the void, afflict upon their enemies various curses and diseases, and use various shadow arts to directly attack. They are best known for their very efficient damage over time spells and their amazingly strong demonic pets.

Warlock Races

Permissible races for the warlock class are restricted to Undead, Orcs, Humans, Gnomes, and Blood Elves.

Warlocks are only allowed to wear cloth armor, like many of the other magic hurling classes. Weapon-wise, they’re limited to just using staves, daggers, wands, and some swords.

Starting Stats Strength Agility Stamina Intellect Spirit Health Mana
Blood Elves 17 22 19 26 21 42 200
Gnome 15 23 20 26 22 43 200
Human 20 20 21 22 23 53 140
Orc 23 17 23 19 25 73 109
Undead 19 18 22 20 27 63 110

Warlock Talent Builds

Afflicition Warlock: The best spec for leveling your Warlock is going to be an Affliction build. When using this talent build you are able to fight just about non-stop while leveling without running low on mana or health. The Affliction specialization focuses on curses, drains and damage over time spells. This talent spec shines at raiding, boss killing, and farming. Affliction is commonly acknowledged as the best leveling spec for the warlock class.

Demonology Warlock: Demonology is a spec that puts a lot of reliance on your summoned pets and their damage output. You don’t do as much damage yourself, but your pet will more than make up for it. The Demonology talent tree uses talents that are designed to make summoned demonic minions more powerful and more useful, in addition to enhancing conjuring spells and giving you better passive bonuses. For PvP, Demonology is a truly great spec. For leveling, it is almost as good as Affliction. This spec can be used at lower levels to make up for a lack of good spell damage loot.

Destruction Warlock: The destruction talent build depends a lot on spells and abilities that require a cast time. In a lot of ways it’s the equivalent to being a Mage with a permanent pet. The upside of this spec is that you do massive damage, but will run low on mana pretty frequently. Destruction talents focus on enhancing most shadow and fire spells thereby making the warlock a powerful direct damage dealer. For Destruction, it is all about high damage per second (DPS) and huge crits. This specialization isn’t as effective as the others during the early levels. It requires a ton of soul shards, isn’t mana efficient, and is difficult to use effectively for people who wish to play solo.

Warlock Leveling

Leveling with a Warlock can be easy, fun, and fast, but there’s still a bazillion quests to do and mobs to kill. If you want your character to be level 80 very quickly, you need to know where you are going to, how to finish quests and you also need add-ons. This wow warlock leveling guide, will give you step by step instructions. This means that it will tell you where to go, and what quests to pick. This is the most effective way of getting a character to level 80.

Zygor’s Guide is our guide of choice. Just pick your starting point and the guide shows you where to go as well as what to do. Zygor’s automatically updates and advances as you complete quests, sets a waypoint arrow automatically, and includes all the important quest info. You will probably never need to look at your quest log again, much less browse Thottbot.

Grab your copy here or read a review.

Warlock PvP

Warlocks can be a powerful and potent force for PvP, but a little planning and skill separates a bad warlock from a great one. The similarity of the warlock class to the mage class makes it seem that the two classes would have similar PvP play styles, but this is not the case. The addition of the warlock’s pet and how his most effective spells damage the enemy call for different strategies.

The warlock should rely on his brains and spells in PvP combat as much as he does in raids, soloing, or groups. Spells like soulstone, which brings a warlock back into a fight, should be used before going into a battleground or arena, although the soulstone itself should be used when there are no enemies around the warlock.

Lifestones, potions, and band-aids work when a healer cannot heal the warlock or the healer is unavailable. In a pinch, the warlock can try using the damage over time spells to drain life from his opponents, but a combination of all these techniques work well. The best tactic is of course, not to get hit.

Warlock Pet

Pets are absolutely essential for the Warlock. Warlocks can summon many different pets. Each pet has unique abilities whether it’s an offensive attack or a defensive buff for it’s master and his group. Your first pet is an imp since Warlocks use demons as pets. Unfortunately, your first imp is pretty useless, but once you get past the tenth level, you can upgrade to a better pet that will have more skills and will be able to deal out more damage.

The Voidwalker is the probably the most common pet for a Warlock since they are very good at taking damage. You’ll get this one early on in the game but a lot of players prefer to keep them around, simply because they are so useful. Later on, you’ll be dealing with the Succubus, Fellhunter, Fellguard and the Infernal. Most will take at least one soul shard to purchase, and you won’t be able to get them until you reach specific levels. In order to get an Infernal, you’ll need to find an Infernal Stone, so keep an eye out for this as you approach level 50.

Warlock Profession

You’re not going to want to waste your time on professions like blacksmithing, skinning or fishing. The best professions for a Warlock are herbalism, enchanting and alchemy. Tailoring is also a very good choice since you will need cloths for your spell casting. It is a good idea to pick a very strong primary profession that will be supported by a secondary profession.

Mages are the most powerful single spell damaging class in the game. They dish out the most damage in a short amount of time than any other class. They come with a few abilities that assist the rest of the party such as the ability to create food and water and make portals that will teleport players to cities for quicker travel.

This guide is simply intended to provide a general overview of the Mage. For a more in-depth and highly detailed resource check out the best class guides -Warcraft Pros.

Mage Strengths:

One of the major strengths of Mages is that they can use spells to inflict major damage to single and even multiple targets. But, if it’s a losing battle, Mages have two more tricks up their sleeve. Firstly, they can hold off enemies with magic and secondly they’re masters of escape with their Frost Nova, Blink and Ice Armor spells.

Another one of their strengths is that they can fight from a distance and therefore avoid, in many cases, taking damage. Also they can travel through portals and even transport other players this way.

Mage Weaknesses:

The Mages lack of armor is the source of one major weakness of this class, making it difficult for them to survive much damage. Also, they’re really horrible at melee, so if melee is part of your play style don’t choose the Mage class. Last but not least, for all their magical strengths they don’t have any real healing ability.

Mage Races

Human: They have a few talents that make them awesome choices for PvP mages. Every Man for Himself acts as a PvP trinket…meaning you can now equip two normal trinkets. Given the massive power of top-end PvE trinkets, this is an enormous bonus for any PvP mage.

Gnome: They’re another great choice for PvP thanks to Escape Artist and a passive resistance to Arcane. Otherwise the Int bonus is nice at any time, since it adds to your mana pool.

Draenei: Gift of the Naaru is handy, providing a bit of self-healing that mages lack. And it isn’t just good for PvP; being able to take some pressure off overtaxed healers, or survive when you normally wouldn’t, can be of great advantage in PvE.

Undead: Undead’s big thing is Will of the Forsaken, which is getting nerfed in 3.3. So Undead are going from top PvP dog to “The guys with the cool cast animation”. Will of the Forsaken will still be useful, but it will pale in comparison to the other racials. And the effect of WotF on PvE is negligible. Skip them if you are wanting to min/max.

Troll: Troll has a racial that is enormously valuable in both PvP and PvE. Berserking is a small speed increase, which gains speed (up to 30% increase) as your health goes down, but low health is the last place a mage wants to be. Beast Slaying is a nice little bonus for leveling, but pretty useless elsewhere.

Blood Elf: Blood elf has Arcane Torrent as their noteworthy racial. At low levels, this is great, allowing you to keep fighting by giving you an extra mana regen. And for PvP, an extra silence is great. But for end-game PvE, we have another race that is mostly useless.

Mage Talent Specifications

As a Mage, you can choose from the talent specifications of “Arcane”, “Frost”, and “Fire”. The type of character that you will want to achieve, ultimately, from the Mage will rely heavily on the points that you place in the Talent Tree of the Mage.

The Frost Mage: This is probably the most popular build for Mages, with good reason. The frost mage is a formidable build, with the ability to function with less mana burn, coupled with some nice mob-controlling abilities. However, the character that focuses on Frost as a talent spec is able to effectively hold their own – especially when it comes to PvP. In basic game play combat, Frost can prove to be effective as well – simply because most creatures that you go against are unable to fight the “freezing” that occurs when you use Frost.

The Arcane Mage: If you want to create a character that is highly effective at dealing a lot of damage, you will want to focus most of the talent points that you acquire in the Arcane part of your talent tree. While you can be quite a force in PvP, you can do so with this spec. Unfortunately, you must understand that the damage that you deal out will rely, overall, on the amount of mana that you work with. This means that once the damage is dealt, which is relatively quick, you must wait on the mana that is available to you to build back up – this could prove to hinder you in game play.

The Fire Mage: If you are looking to deal out a lot of damage per second, or “DPS” with the Mage, then the fire talent spec is the one that you should focus on. With this, you will develop abilities like “Incinerate”, “Pyroblast”, and even “Ignite”. You can definitely rule the playing ground with this particular talent spec.

Mage Leveling

The key to a good Wow Mage Leveling Spec is to have good damage dealing ability while also being able to attack often. Ideally, there would be very little down time between battles. If the down time is too much it either means the WoW Mage build is causing the player to take damage or the spells aren’t doing enough damage for the amount of mana they are costing.

The Mage is considered an important tool in groups for crowd control and AoE. It comes self-prepared; it can summon its own water and food and pass it out to others. Its AoE damage can be sufficient enough to level off of or you can use other these for single target damage. There is really wow power leveling build for a mage, it depends on how you like to play so I will cover all of the trees.

While the idea of AoE leveling seems incredible, in practice it’s really not and is usually more trouble than it’s worth. If you intend on grinding (AoE or not), rather than questing then BE WARNED: Grinding is NOT the fastest way to 80. Questing is much faster, especially if you use a guide to tell you exactly which quests to take and how to complete them in the quickest time possible.

As good as this mage leveling guide is, remember that it doesn’t in any way compare to a full leveling guide. I used one level my mage, and recommend it to anyone who really hates leveling and wants it out of the way as quick as possible. Some of these guides have mage specific sections which are incredibly useful – The Zygor Leveling Guide is particularly good.

Mage PvP

Mages can be one of the most powerful and feared forces in PvP. While their armor choices make them weaker than classes that must use similar strategies, like hunters, the mage has many tools that help players of the class excel in PvP combat.

The mage has quite a some crowd control which must be used at maximum, by communicating with the others in your group (especially when in arena). The best specs for PvP are frost (you have better defenses but less damage) or arcane (less defenses, higher damage). The spells you need to manage and use very wisely are: Blink, Ice Block and Invisibility.

While mages that specialize in the frost tree have the best PvP capabilities of this class, any mage who wishes to excel at PvP must use the tools to keep the enemy at bay. These spells are polymorph, frost nova, frost bolt, and blink. The mage can only take a few hits from spells or melee weapons, although the mage is capable of using mana shield to overcome this weakness. (The mage’s remove curse can also dispel many warlock damage over time spells.)

A Frost mage has an advantage in PvP combat over an arcane or fire mage, but this advantage does not mean that the other types of mages cannot use frost spells effectively. An arcane mage has better mana management tools while fire mages, which do the best in player versus environment situations can still do a lot of damage if they can keep the mage’s opponents away from them long enough to cast his fireballs.

Having a good Mage PvP Guide can put you at a huge advantage over the other players. What will a good Mage PvP Guide include? How to spec for PvP, how to gear for PvP, how to counter any other class, and more. It is an all in one guide to PvP success. Most guides will tell you that in order to succeed in PvP you must do the most damage as possible in the least amount of time.

1-80 Mage Leveling Guide

Distributing your talents like this will give you an advantage and indeed help your mage level way quicker than before. However, if you want to level even faster take a look at The Zygor’s Guide. This is a mage guide and a add-on, which you install in WoW. It basically inserts a large arrow under your character and add a small text bow on your screen. The arrow tells your mage which way he (or she) should go and the text box tells you what to do when you get there.

It automatically calculates the fastest way to do quests so you can level up your mage in a hurry.

Grab your copy of Zygor’s Guide here and get leveled fast, or read the best wow guide review first.

The Death Knight is a hero class introduced in Wrath of the Lich King. A Death Knight is a hybrid class that mixes together both magic and melee to bring a devastating force to both the armies of the Horde and Alliance.

The death knight starts at level 55. The class is a DPS/tank class that uses a new resource system called cooldowns rather than the existing energy. In addition, Death Knights will also be able to carve runes outside of combat and recharge them within 10 seconds initially.

Death Knight Races

The new death knight hero class is the only class which can be created with any race. This will lend itself to a wide range of variablity in the class, particularly based upon your unique racial abilities and traits.

Best Horde Death Knight Race

Orc Racials: Overall just not that impressive. Hardcore tank death knights may opt for Tauren anyway as endurance does have the potential be significant. We won’t really know for sure until we see how it scales at level 80. The other racials are decent at best.

Tauren Racials: All in all orc receives solid bonuses which help augment the death knight’s natural abilities. A very solid choice for PvP and PvE.

Troll Racials: I really like the idea of the berserking as a tank death knight, and of course it’s going to be great in PvP. Certainly in the running for best PvE tank.

Undead Racials: Overall I feel undead will be better suited to PvP players who are very concerned about being fear.

Blood Elf Racials: Overall pretty solid here as well, a nice mix of PvP and PvE utility.

Best Alliance Death Knight Race

Dwarf Racials: Quite frankly not all that great. If you have a 2h mace and do nothing but PvP against frost mages you might could make a case, but I’m not impressed by the racials here.

Gnome Racials: Much like dwarves, pretty bad. With the exception of escape artist every racial ability is either “meh” or not used at all.

Human Racials: So far the best of any alliance race. Having the double weapon specialization at least gives you some leeway as to your weapon selection.

Night Elf Racials: No useable racials, quite frankly pretty bad. Quickness and Nature resistance are nice additions, but considering they are really more situational uses at best…these are pretty bad.

Draenei Racials: The gift of the naaru is pretty huge in my opinion, you toss some nice passive resistance and +hit on top of that you’ve got a pretty solid package.

Death Knight Strengths

Starts at level 55 with a full set of gear and can earn a complete rare (blue) set of gear by the time they are 57.

Level extremely fast through the first Death Knight zone and quest chain and are re-leased into the Outlands where they continue to level quickly until the mid-sixties.

Very self reliant when soloing through Blood abilities that heal themselves as they deal damage.

Runes and Runic energy recharge quickly, meaning that you can adventure almost non-stop.

Death Knights are the best tank in the game when fighting casters with various spell-damage reduction and avoidance abilities.

Can switch between tanking and damage dealing very easily, and can do both decently in a single talent build.

Death Knight Talent Building

Death Knight talents are split into 3 different trees:

Blood: Talents in this tree focus on 2 handed weapons, healing, and strikes. A great tree to use initially for leveling because of healing/damage. Considered the best single target DPS tree.

Frost: Talents in this tree focus on dual 1 handed weapons, armor, counters, and combos. Considered to be one of strongest trees for tanking but all trees can be used to tank. Frost also has some good AOE talents.

Unholy: Talents in this tree focus on spells, summons, diseases, and AOE. One of the highest damage dealing trees and allows for a perma-ghoul pet. Can dual wield or 2 handed weapons can be used in this spec.

Death Knight Leveling

It is still important to remember that even when you are searching for a Death Knight guide that you are going to need to look for a leveling guide as well! Level 55 is barely more than halfway through the game, and with so much good development going into Outland and Northrend, there is a world of content out there for you to explore. If you want to know what zones are best going to suit your purposes and if you want to take your Death Knight to level 80, check out Dugi’s Ultimate Guide.

Death Knight PVP

Even though Death Knights are relatively new player characters, many of the best World of Warcraft PvP players have been quick to test out the Death Knight class, and have much information to share newly-updated PvP Guides. Choosing the top guide to playing a Death Knight in PvP combat can save you many hours of trial and error as you learn how to dominate the arena.

Learn how your Death Knight can come to dominate the PvP battlefield and score above a 2200 honor rating in just a few weeks with the PvP Bible.

Death Knight Gear

Your Death Knight will have gear stated as reasonably Decent for your level, ( Blues im assuming.)
Death Knights will be a plate wearing class. But they will not have the ability to use Shields.
You will get a Special Weapon either Two-Handed or one handed (Intended to dual wield)
This will be referred to as your “Runeblade(s)”

The Warrior is an extremely popular class of character when it comes to World of Warcraft. Warrior is one of the best known characters because of its usefulness and strength in close range fighting and group combats. This WoW Warrior guide will help you get to know the fundamental things you need to know when using the Warrior as your WoW character.

Basic Warrior Play

Basic Warrior play is intended for individuals who like being the center of attention when it comes to Raids, Instances, PvP, and field fights. All of the battles that you fight as a Warrior are likely to be on the winning side for the simple fact that you can deal out an immense level of damage overall. In addition to this, there are many different gear types that you can choose from – and all of them are especially powerful! By customizing the unique Talent Tree for the Warrior Class, you can create many different types of fighting styles and moves that you can call your own!

Warrior Race

Warriors are the only class where you can be any race in the game. The wide range of choices does cause some people to think that one race choice is superior to another, but every race class makes a very effective warrior.

Alliance

Dwarves: Dwarves have a nice PvP ability that has some use in raids, but their other abilities add little to being a Warrior.

Gnomes: Gnomes, also the ultimate PvP warrior race despite what you might think at first glance, purely because of escape artist: a handy 1-minute 45 sec. cooldown racial ability allowing Gnomish Warriors to free themselves from a root or snare effect. Their small size also makes them more difficult for some people to target (especially compared to, say.. Taurens.)

Humans: The ability Diplomacy grants you a solid 10% increase to all faction reputation gains. Initially you might scoff at this being a warrior racial, but quite honestly since WoW incorporates so many faction grinds with each new expansion this ability’s been elevated to a nigh ‘must have’ status.

Night Elves: Night Elves gain both Shadowmeld and Quickness as far as effective abilities go, the wisp spirit racial(increased movement speed when dead) is fairly pointless unless you plan on dieing frequently, which you shouldn’t as long as you play your cards right.

Horde

Orc: Orcs are the race most consider the deadliest warrior race at 80. Orcs possess an interesting racial ability called Bloodfury, which increases their attack power by a significant amount. However, this also reduces healing effects by 50%. A good ability for leveling and certain PvP situations, not so good as a tanking ability, where heals are essential..

Tauren: Taurens are the greatest tank race, for all those wishing to focus on maximising potential as opposed to looks, a 5% increase to base health becoming amazingly useful at high levels for any prospective tank.

Trolls: Trolls are something of the weaker choice, although I must admit they gain innumerable points for style and uniqueness. Despite this their abilities are some of the weakest when considered as a Warrior.

Undead: Undead, another race with one great PvE ability and one great PvP to match. Will of the Forsaken is one of the greatest racials PvP wise, granting a free break from fear, sleep, and charm effects every 2 minutes, yet PvE wise it’s almost useless, aside from specific boss fights.

Warrior Talent Builds

There are three Talent Tree Specs in which you can choose from when it comes to playing a Warrior. First, you have “”Arms””, and then it is followed by both “”Fury””, and “”Protection””. The following details the benefits of each of these Talent Specs:

Arms Warriors – Individuals who want to work on improving the amount of damage that is dealt will focus on placing their Talent points in this spec. This is also an excellent choice when it comes to players who want to play PvP in World of Warcraft.

Fury Warriors - Fury is a great choice when it comes to players who want to develop a tank-like character that can not only take a lot of damage, but deal out a lot of damage at once as well.

Protection Warriors – Protection is appropriate for the Warrior that wants to actually serve as a major tank in World of Warcraft. This seems to come in handy in Raids, Instances, and even player vs. player modes.

Warrior Leveling

The Warrior class is an incredibly dynamic class who has been endowed with 3 vastly different play styles to include Fury, Arms and Protection. With the release of The Burning Crusade, the distinction is made even more clear with some significant 40 warrior point talents. However, we won’t worry about these while we focus on leveling.

While leveling a warrior you will want to maximize dps, wear high armored gear, and carry food with you when grinding. I strongly recommend going Fury to do all of these. However I will outline all three warrior trees to provide you with the choice.

Warrior Professions

For a heavy class like a warrior, mining and blacksmithing are the most suited tradeskills. Being a blacksmith, the warrior can craft his own stuff, especially the weapons just by saving up the materials looted and gathered while doing quests. Blacksmithing is also good for enhancing all the equipment you have by adding sockets to apply more jewels. The crafted high level gear is just good enough to get you started for instance farming with your guildies.

Warrior Weapons and Armor

Arms spec is the spec for predictable frontloaded DPS. It does not produce as much sustained DPS as a pure DW fury, however it will provide you with reasonably predictable aggro management and damage without being so gear dependant. With the exception of some hybrid PvP specs with very specific equipment restraints, 31 Arms / 20 Fury is the king of all PvP builds as Mortal Strike inhibits healing and predictable burst DPS allows a warrior to frontload DPS as needed. I won’t go too deep into talent builds as they are pretty well hashed over at this point, I will stick mainly to the primary Arms skills and tricks. The following are my experiences on how to be viable in raids with this PvP spec.

Arms spec and more to the point Mortal Strike is made for the big slow two-handed weapons in the game. While Mortal Strike adds the same damage to a fast 1h weapon as it does to a slow 2h weapon the 6-second cooldown is not affected by weapon speed. Your plans for your weapon should be a 2h with the highest low-end and top-end damage you can find, this unfortunately will also be the slowest weapon you can find as well.

Warrior PvE and PvP

The Warrior can provide a lot of benefit to both PvE and PvP. In PvE as well as PvP the Warrior can supply the group with much needed buffs such as Battle Shout which adds attack power to your group members or Commanding Shout which adds additional health to your party. Warriors also have the ability to apply debuffs to your enemies. Demoralizing Shout reduces the attack power of all enemies in a 10 yard radius. Thunder Clap decreases the time between your enemy’s attacks, and Sunder Armor reduces your targets armor for everyone in your group. The Warrior also has a great arsenal of crowd control abilities, such as Hamstring which slows and enemy down and Piercing Howl which dazes your enemies and reduces their movement speed. In PvP one of your greatest tools is the ability to Intercept which allows you to charge your enemy, closing the distance with your opponent in the blink of an eye and stunning them briefly.

1-80 Warrior Leveling Guide

Zygor now holds the new world record for leveling a character from 1 – 80 in only 6 days and 5 hours. Zygor has quickly become the best selling leveling Guide available. You will never wonder where to go or what to do and you will never need to look up anything from other sites. The guide automatically updates as you complete tasks and quests and then sets a waypoint arrow showing you where to go next. This will have you leveling much faster than the older guides.

The WoW Hunter is one of the most exciting classes in the World of Warcraft. In this WoW Hunter Guide you will learn some essential information that is going to help you eventually get to level 80 and allow you to totally dominate the realm of WoW.

Hunter Overview

The Hunter is a fantastic class that uses is ranged attacks combined with its long list of utility to avoid direct conflicts and stay at the back of the battle. They aren’t completely handicapped in melee matters either, Hunters have the ability to duel wield and several melee based attacks that can aid in escaping back to their preferred ranged habitat.

Hunter Races

When you are a hunter, the talent you choose is directly related to the race you are and is a big part of how you will build that talent. The most important thing to remember is that while race is important, there is no particular race that is any better for a hunter. You get to choose between 5 different races; you can be a Dwarf or a Night Elf if you are part of the Alliance and you can be an Orc, Troll and Tauren if you are part of the Horde.

On the Alliance side, you can play a Dwarf Hunter. Night Elves are popular as well. If you choose the Dwarf, they can withstand more of a beating and I’m not depending on dodging attacks to survive. Dwarves also get a nice +5 bonus to guns which comes in hand early on. Once you get your pet at level 10, they can engage mobs while sit back and fire shot after shot with little risk of drawing aggro. If you are a Night Elf you can dodge much better than anyone else plus you pick up the particular skills of your own race.

On the Horde side, you have a few great options to decide on, you can choose the Orc and the Tauren that normally have more hit points, or the Troll who has quite a bit of dodge ability which means they get hit a lot less often. The best thing about Trolls though is that they regenerate much faster than the other two. Trolls have a higher chance of having thrown weapons but they do not exactly have anything to do with being a hunter. When Hunter leveling you will need to have a rifle, crossbow and a bow so that you can kill things like a good hunter should. The Tauren is quite popular and has many great abilities; however some of the abilities such as herbalism have absolutely nothing to do with being a hunter. The Orcs are the most chosen of all the hunters as they are usually strong, have the right weapon and their pet is powerful so that makes them most likely to be a hunter.

Hunter Professions

Some hunters choose to go with alchemy as a main profession. With alchemy, the best profession is definitely herbalism since alchemy mainly uses the herbs gathered from the other profession. With alchemy and herbalism, the hunter can buff up during leveling and that makes leveling easier and faster.

Another classic profession for a hunter is leatherworking. Leatherworking can be used to make the hunter green armor that will ultimately make it easier to level. Leatherworking also incorporates some mail armor that can be crafted at levels about 40. If you decide to go with leatherworking, skinning is obviously the best secondary profession since provides you with the materials you will need.

Hunter Abilities

Hunters bring the ability, like Warriors/Rogues, to absolutely decimate casters especially when they are accompanied by their pet. Hunters also have a nice ability called Viper Sting, a mana drain, which when coupled with mana burn is very nice. Hunters also have the ability to drop various traps; the most common one used in Arena is a frost trap. The frost trap releases a huge frozen area, which slows down anyone entering into it. Alot of top 5v5 teams use this to kite opponents around, minimizing their damage done and forcing the team to spread out. A new change to Hunters mana buff allows them to regain mana faster when it’s lower, meaning Hunters do not become useless when nearing 0 mana. Hunters have two speccs that are proven to be effective in 5v5 arena.

Hunter Talent Builds

Hunters can choose from three talent trees namely Marksmanship, Survival and Beast Mastery. It is well known by most that the Beast Mastery talent tree is great for leveling purposes.

Marksmanship is the talent tree for hunters who prefer a variety of deadly ranged attacks. Marksmanship provides higher dps from a range which is why hunters who mainly raid use this tree. It can be used for PVP, but it’s mostly if the hunter gains the advantage over the opponent by ambushing.

Beast mastery is one of the most popular trees to use especially for PVP. It gives the hunter a great dps challenger in its pet’s enhancement. Beast mastery pets are brutal especially if they ambush a player without them seeing the hunter. Occasionally pets may even become invincible for a few seconds that can be the death of any opposing player.

The Survival talent tree hasn’t always been really good but today it is great for PvP Hunters. Because it gives the Hunter more survivability and improved traps it’s a nice choice. Besides this a Survival Hunter will also receive a couple shots that are great for PvP like Explosive Shot and Shatter Shot.

Hunter Leveling

When leveling, the Hunter will start out questing and looking for beasts. They will be running all over doing the highest level of quests that their level will allow. You will definitely like the Earthmother quests. Then you will need to go back home to find the quest you will need in order to get your pet.

This section is only an overview of hunter leveling, for more information please see our Hunter Leveling Guide. If you need a step-by-step guide to go from 1 to 80 (or any level to 80) then check out our recommended leveling guide – Zygor’s guide.

Hunter Weapon

Hunters use their guns, bows and arrows, or crossbows to inflict great damage to their opponents from afar. Ammo or arrows are required for the hunter’s ranged weapon and enhance the DPS of their weapon.

It is advised that lower DPS ammo/arrow (low-cost stuff) should be used for general attack while the higher DPS ammo/arrow (more expensive) for special kills of leader boss or monsters. There are special ammo/arrow pouches that increase attack speed and hold larger number of ammo/arrows than Hunters could otherwise carry.

Hunter PvP

Hunters are a great for PvP in Battleground such as Alterac Valley or The Eye of the Storm as they are adapt at long ranged assault and can hide behind the great number of melee classes while laying down high amounts of burst damage in turn racking up killing blows. However on the smaller scale, such as in 2v2 arenas hunters become a tougher PvP class especially against melee as once they are caught up to they are cooked! But they can still be successful on a small scale and need to make the most of their movement impairing abilities to make sure their opponents don’t catch up. A Marksmanship hunter’s greatest weakness is in their small scale PvP as the talent build has far fewer survival/movement impairing aspects.

Hunter Pets

The hunter is kin to the warlock in the fact that they can have a pet to use as a tank to draw the mob’s damage off of them. But, unlike a warlock, the hunter can train and use just about anything for their pet. This is great in the fact that it will allow you to train all sorts of different animals, reptiles, and monsters to use as pets in different areas of the game.

To choose the right pet, you should try all sorts of different ones. Some players stick to cats due to their swiftness and strength and their ability to heal fast. Other players prefer boars for the same reasons. And, there are those that prefer reptiles, such as the scorpids, for other reasons. No matter what your personal preference is, you should always train new pets throughout your time in the World of Warcraft to get a full range of the different abilities and skills that come with each different type of pet.

So when you choose a pet, choose him wisely! We can sort them into three groups, based on their abilities: Cunning, Ferocity and Tenacity.

Cunning pets: They are made for PvP as their talent trees are flexible and based around mobility and utility and most of the hunters use this pet subgroup in PvP.

Ferocity pets: Ferocity has its talent tree focused more on dps, boosting your dps and pet’s dps. Ferocity pets are ideal for raids and dungeons and in some cases they can add a very fine tune to your team’s dps for arenas.

Tenacity: Tenacity pets are not designed for maximum damage or mobility / utility but for tanking, their talent tree will boost your pet’s survivability and health. Some of their special abilities are made so they will take less damage and keep the enemies focused on them rather than on a hunter.

1-80 Hunter Leveling Guide

Zygor now holds the new world record for leveling a character from 1 – 80 in only 6 days and 5 hours. Zygor has quickly become the best selling leveling Guide available. You will never wonder where to go or what to do and you will never need to look up anything from other sites. The guide automatically updates as you complete tasks and quests and then sets a waypoint arrow showing you where to go next. This will have you leveling much faster than the older guides.

Shaman are the spiritual leaders of their tribes and clans. They are masters of the elements, using spells and totems that heal or enhance their allies in battle while unleashing the fury of the elements upon their foes. Shamans can wear medium armor, and even wield massive two-handed weapons in combat. They are a versatile class that can wade into battle, restoring their allies while hurling elemental bolts of lightning at their enemies.

The Totem

Don’t forget totems while solo, either. I run Stoneskin, Healing Stream and Grace of Air with either Windfury or Rockbiter on my weapon, and then hardly cast any nukes. The mobs don’t die as fast as they would if you burned them, but against even-con nonelites you can kill mobs fairly quickly with almost zero downtime, and with the totems up you’re in good shape if you get adds. Sometimes against high dps mobs I add in a searing to kill them a bit faster, or twist in a nuke or a Lightning Shield.

Modify your totem use to fit your play style and your group. If your group is you and four armsbuild Mortal Strike warriors, then you should probably be using windfury to make their Arcanite Reapers hit more often. If you’re in a group with a druid tank and three mages, then Mana Spring is probably more useful than I made it out to be. The beauty of the totem system is that you customize buffs on the fly, so use that to your advantage and don’t be afraid to change totems mid-fight if something changes.

Shaman Abilities Guide

Shaman abilities are divided into three primary spell trees, Elemental, Enhancement, and Restoration. Each serves a purpose in gifting the shaman with the ability to support or lead in a variety of scenarios. By harnessing all three of these the shaman becomes a true hybrid class, although many times we’ll require only one specialization in situations such as raiding.

Elemental

Elemental is the ranged caster tree of the shaman, comparable to say a druid’s moonkin/balance tree, it’s just that we happen to avoid the whole turning into an oversized owlbear in the process, a definite positive.

The Elemental Combat talents are straightforward and, if not tremendously exciting, then at least useful in a utilitarian fashion. There are, of course, a number of Improved versions of spells, with a few that will let you decrease your mana cost or increase the chances of a critical hit with a spell, which are plainly useful for the distance-casting shaman.

Enhancement

Enhancement, as the name implies, is the buffing branch of the shaman’s ability tree, with most of the spells here focusing on increasing your attacking ability with weapons or increasing your defensive capabilities via Totem spells. There are a lot of great spells available here, including the useful Lightning Shield, which will punish physical attackers if you can recast it often, and the must-have Ghost Wolf, which lets you travel 40% faster when you access it at level 20.

This tree also grants us an instant attack, Stormstrike, as well as a more than a few mana efficiency increasers and temporary damage buffs such as Bloodlust/Heroism. However what really rounds this tree out is the earth elemental totem, a great summoned tank for desperate situations.

Restoration

All shamans will want to have these spells packed away close at hand. The one aspect of healing that shamans don’t have access to is a Renew-type spell that heals over time; all of their healing spells take the form of one big lump of healing, save for the Healing Spring Totem. Restoration shamans are in high demand in raiding for good reason, we bring massive amounts of utility via insane healing capabilities and totems as a side-dish.

Shaman Leveling

Shaman leveling is actually one of the more enjoyable exercises in the game, not only do you get to pick up some rather interesting abilities almost every 4-8 levels but with the increases to experience gained and the decrease in overall requirements, Shaman are leveling faster than ever.

Any good guide for leveling will focus on questing as a method to level up, so it is very probable that you’ll be playing solo all the time. In fact, it is better to solo when leveling up and the Shaman is perfect for this. With that in mind, the talent build anyone should go for is Enhancement. The other branches are Restoration, which focuses on heals, and Elemental which focuses on spells. Elemental is a good spec, but very mana depending so it is not a valid choice.

Do you enjoy following new storylines? Or would you rather reach level 80 in 10 days? According to your preference, the World of Warcraft Shaman leveling guide offers you both at once: powerleveling and story-driven guides to help you reach the level cap in a flash. Instructing you on every single location, strategy and level range, you learn how to glide through the levels with ease. Stick to the unknown and hardly visited areas mentioned in the guide, and you easily double the rate at which you gain experience. Meticulous walk-throughs of all imperative quests in the World of Warcraft Shaman Guide can make sure that your shaman will never get stuck between quests.

Zygor’s Guide is the one we use and recommend. The guide acts as an in-game addon. The install is quick and simple, just drag and drop the files into your Addons directory. When you log in, enable it the same way you would any other addon. Once you get into the game, the addon will be on your screen. From that point, it will literally walk you through every single thing you need to do to get from your current level straight to the cap.

Shaman Gear

So our most important statistic is the attack power or strength. They will increase your overall damage output, so get as many items with strength as possible. Another very important statistic is the critical strike rating, which will increase your chance to deal critical damage, and combining with Thundering Strikes talent, this will result in constant Flurry effect on you. The last very important statistic is the hit rating. You will need approximately 9% hit rating in order to avoid the negative effects of the Dual Wield Specialization. So, to sum up, stack up as much strength, attack power and critical strike rating as possible.

For better performance from your character, it’s better to get the best gear available. There’s no need to put a big emphasis on intellect as there will be not much need for it. That set of gear is perfect for a new player or someone who isn’t very reach. Thanks to the totems that the Shaman has, even with poor gear it will still be easy to level up.

Shaman PvP

The shaman is a class that is good at PvE (player versus environment) and has much to offer in PvP (player versus player) situations, but it is not necessarily the strongest class for people who enjoy the PvP aspects of World of Warcraft.

This does not mean that shamans cannot be an effective PvP class, because a player who understands how to be an effective in the arenas and battlegrounds will certainly do better than a player who does not. It merely means that the shaman’s most poweful tool is not as useful when facing opposing players.

The process used by a shaman to keep his group alive in PvP is the same as the procedures used to keep group members alive in PvE, but there is one key difference. Spells like the shaman’s stoneclaw totem have no effect on opposing players. Human opponents will attempt to take out the healers first.

Using shaman totems in PvP combat is usually a waste of mana. While each totem provides a beneficial affect, enemy players know that they are easily taken out and will not leave them up long.

Shamans can be effective at PvP and the enhancement tree is the best choice for a shaman who wants to go into the battlegrounds, but while their abilities make them desirable, their strength in PvE situations is their greatest weakness in PvP. It is not an insurmountable one. A good player can easily overcome this weakness.

Rogues can bring top damage in a dungeon instance, or you can spec your rogue for PVP and slice and dice some opposing faction players. In this WoW Rogue guide, we attempt to give you an overall look at the rogue class to help you decide if it is the right class for your play style.

Rogue Races

World of Warcraft offers ten races, but only eight of them support Rogues. Some of the Rogue-compatible races are actually compatible, but there are some that only look good until you start fighting people. Each race has their own specific skills and passive abilities, so that will obviously weigh in with what race you want to choose.

Alliance

Humans

Humans are a typical jack of all trades race, very well suited to most roles and tasks. As a Rogue the human typically can make good use of its racial abilities against other Rogues and in specific roles. The skills that the Human race gains is a 10% spirit increase, which really isn’t that important for Rogues. Diplomacy is another 10% bonus, however this goes to faction/reputation gains. Seeing as most of the Outland is a faction grind, you might as well have it.

Night Elves

Likely the most popular alliance race for rogues despite the fact that it possesses the absolute worst rogue racials possible, other than a Spirit increase, namely a Free stealth of inferior quality. It gives free stealth of a lesser quality, and makes up for it with a 1% dodge increase. You really won’t need the ghost run speed increase if you play Rogue the right way.

Dwarves

The Dwarves are a hardy race, and make use of their diminished size to remain hidden and perform their role. Though not very well suited to be Rogues, and their racial abilities do not lend themselves readily to the Rogue’s repertoire but can still add that pinch of flavor that a player needs to enjoy the game.

Gnomes

The gnomes are one of the ideal Rogue races. Their considerably small size and stature lends themselves to staying hidden. You might stand right on top of one and miss it for lack of looking down. Another interesting mechanic of World of Warcraft that a gnome makes use of is the ability to squeeze through small areas, which as a Rogue that kind of mobility and freedom is invaluable.

Horde

Orcs

The orc race is a race of politics, betrayals, assassination and brute strength. The orc Rogue is a brutal enemy, a foe who strikes without mercy at the weakest target to take it down.

Undead

This is another great PVP race, mostly thanks to Will of the Forsaken. It grants temporary immunity to fear, sleep, and charm, not to mention breaking any already present status effect of these types. Very useful against Warlocks and Priests. Cannibalize is good for leveling regeneration. Another great ability is Underwater Breathing, it’s self-explanatory, I’d hope.

Blood Elves

It gains a 10 point increase to enchanting, an improvement of five to all resistances, and a Mana Tap/Arcane Torrent. Arcane Torrent allows you to instantly cast an Area of Effect silence spell that lasts two seconds and affects all within eight yards, unless it’s resisted, which is fairly likely to happen. The chance of pulling it off is about 40%.

Trolls

Offensively, like the Orcs, Trolls offer a supreme racial trait that boosts their attack speed reversely proportional to how much health you have remaining. Berserking. That’s 10-30% increase in attack speed and again, like Blood Fury, putting your opponent in a stunlock before using it leads to considerable damage. Any Rogue geared for speed will learn to appreciate even a 10% raise in attack speed. Geared properly, a Troll Rogue could reach speeds of one hit every half-second, depending on their selected weapon.

WoW Rogue Guide – Abilities

Rogue skill and talent trees are quite fun to play around with, made all the more so by the fact that whether you choose to specialize in any given tree or not, all the abilities will likely remain in common use due to the simple requirement of variety to remain viable as a rogue.

The assassination tree is great for PVP rogues who love the element of surprise. It increases critical strike moves, intense stun abilities, and a wide variety of possible finishing moves to disable the target before the player has a chance to strike back. A good assassination rogue can keep the target stunned so that it has no chance of survival.

Combat is mainly used in combination with the other trees. Combat increases sinister strike, which is the main smashing key during rogue leveling. Gouge and kick are other great abilities that are enhanced from this tree. It can give the rogue enough time to bandage during critical moments.

Subtlety combines a variety of skills for leveling and end game raiding. Vanish is picked up early through the tree, and this can be a life saver for a rogue. Combine this with engineering and jumper cables and your party will be thankful for not needing to corpse run back to the instance.

Rogue Gear

There are a ton of different looks out there for Rogues, from naked to full Bloodfang there is a large amount of gear out there to support every class, race and play style. Realistically though, the Look for end game Rogues is somewhere between Shadowcraft and Death Dealers. For these reasons, people general base their opinions on how a race appeals to them aesthetically off their appearance in one of these sets. Decide for yourself:

Rogue Profession Choices

The Rogue is one class that can benefit from almost any profession in some way or another. A Rogue concerned with gathering professions can utilize stealth to approach resource nodes that may be blocked by monsters for those without the ability.

Skinning is probably the best profession for any rogue to have. If you didn’t choose skinning as one of your two gathering professions, go back and level it up. Skinning gives you Master of Anatomy, which gives +40 to your crit chance, a valuable plus for any rogue.

Leatherworking gives the Rogue the benefit of being able to make most of his own armor until later levels, as well as kits to augment the strength of his armor. Coupled with skinning, grinding levels will become a profitable enterprise.

Engineering: An ideal profession for the level 60 Rogue without money problems, engineering will give you a number of novelty items and items to cover gaps in Rogue abilities, or even reinforce existing ones. The mainstays of engineering are things such as dynamite, a thrown item that does area damage, goggles with various abilities such as Catseye goggles, and several novelty devices that do things such as root the target, reduce attack power, temporarily stun enemies, even items that allow the wearer to slow fall or stealth without the stealth ability.

Rogue Leveling

Leveling as a rogue is actually quite fun in my opinion, more so than that of likely any other class. One reason for this is that rogues, alongside Hunters and Death Knights, represent the fastest leveling classes in the game by leaps and bounds.

Combat is the easiest way to level (best is subjective depending on what you like) because it doesn’t require repositioning behind the mob (which is very hard to do solo, it involves a lot of stunlocking/gouging and most find it very tedious).

Stats are, for leveling anyway, agility > attack power > stamina > strength but you’ll also want to pick up whatever +hit/+crit items there might be pre-Outlands gear. I dunno what the options are these days, I leveled before the gear revamp. Strength does give you AP, but agility is basically the be-all-end-all stat for rogues: equal attack power to strength, crit, dodge, armor. Attack power is fine if something’s got it, but if the choice is agility or attack power, take the agility.

Using daggers, swords, or maces, Combat rogues are the fastest leveling types of an already speedy killer, however they pay for this consistent and immense damage output by being the most boring as well. For combat rogues, that is the only method of maximizing your potential DPS. However things can be spiced up by pulling multiple mobs at a time and blasting our Adrenaline rush/Blade flurry/Killing Spree to drop groups of five to six monsters at the same time.

With Rogue leveling you may want to try different talent builds before you decide on the one that best suits you. It is best to try them for a few days before you decide which you like and remember before you decide on a build with backstab, that you will need to have a sword to perform it.

Depending on how you choose to play the game will decide which of your weapons will be best for leveling up. If you are playing the end game, Rogue leveling is best with swords and using the combat tree. If you play in the PVP mode then you will find that daggers and the Assassination tree are quite possibly the only way to go.

A detailed break-down on where, what and how to hunt at which level: which quests you need to take, when you should change locations, and what strategies work best for both solo and grouped play. Rely on a Rogue leveling guide that takes full advantage of the individual strengths of the class to fly through the levels.

Rogue PvP

No matter what kind of PvP you practice, battleground, arena or outdoor PvP (which is the most fun PvP to play as a rogue) what you need to understand first is that stealth is the most important ability that a rogue has. So, stealth must be improved at maximum and used at maximum possible. The talents Master of Deception and Camouflage must be capped so that your ambush attacks reach the maximum efficiency. Also, at the moment, rogues are pretty “squishy”, that means your main card to play is attack. You must attack and kill without being hit at all, if possible, because if another damage dealer lands one or two attacks on you, you’ll probably lose a lot of health and you’ll be already with one foot in the grave. What a rogue must do is deal as much damage as possible in a very short time, keeping the enemy stunned so he doesn’t deal any damage or any heals.

The essence of a good Rogue PvP Guide is that it helps to provide a series of solid, well structured strategies that guide Rogues through the process of fighting and defeating essentially any enemy they might face. With that in mind, players are often overwhelmed if they don’t have one. Learning how to stunlock is hard enough, with its precise timing and detailed positioning, but the use of poisons, dropping combat, and using evasion are all precision skills. It is almost required for any Rogue PvP newbie to get pick up a good Rogue PvP Guide if they want to be effective.

3.2 patch notes

1-80 Rogue Leveling Guide

If you want to get level 80 as soon as possible I recommend you to get a World Of Warcraft leveling guide. With the help of an elite guide you will be able to get level 80 in 6 days!

The Priest class is an extremely popular character choice among many who elect to play World of Warcraft. The Priest is a very powerful caster but does take a lot of attention and forethought to be played correctly. You are a cloth wearing caster, and as such you are very squishy. Sure you can buff up, and heal yourself, but you are still soft, and if not very careful, you will wind up running back to your corpse more than you are killing. It is a very demanding class in that you have to watch your companion’s health, and the amount of hate you are generating, at all times.

Priest Race

The race you choose for your Priest, unlike any other class, has a dramatic effect on what you can do. Each race has a different set of race-specific Priest spells that they can cast. Alongside this you get the usual racial traits which can be very powerful. So, picking your race as a Priest is less aesthetic and more practical than for other classes.

When it comes to either faction of Horde or Alliance you can select from the following races:

Alliance

Humans

Night Elves

Draenei

Dwarves

Horde

Blood Elf

Undead

Troll

Priest Abilities & Talent Build

There are 3 different specs related with the Priest Talent Tree these are Discipline, Holy and Shadow.

Discipline Priest – Discipline will allow you to have increases when it comes to the amount of damage that you do with the spells that you cast, and will also prove effective when it comes to increasing the “Buff” options that you have during game play.

Holy Priest – Holy will allow the Priest to rule in relation to healing themselves and other characters. When focused on this talent you can increase your popularity in relation to Raids, Instances and PvP. Considered the most basic talent build, you can gain enough points through Discipline, although the core build is through Holy.

Shadow Priests are famous for their Shadow form which not only looks interesting it also gives a Shadow Priest more spell power. Most of their spells are instant and they are famous for their DoT (Damage Over Time) spell Shadow Word Pain. They are also greatly valued in raids and groups not only because they can be good damage dealers but also because of their ability to heal and give mana back to the party members.

Priest Strengths

Great healing, of course.

Highly desired in groups and raids.

Great healers and can take on the role of DPS

Priest Weaknesses

Difficult to play (and stay alive) particularly at the early levels.

Mana dependent.

Gear dependent too.

Priest Stats & Gear

When you are getting gear for your priest you are limited to wearing only cloth which is a disadvantage you will want a lot of intellect and spirit as well as some stamina. You’ll want a lot of spell power and crit strike rating as well. If you are DPS you are going to want to be hit capped as you would want to be with any other DPS class and if you are healing you will want to focus more on the other mentioned stats. And if you choose to PvP you will want resillience of course as well as stamina and intellent and also spell power and crit rating. You will also want to get some mp5 on your items which is mana regained per 5 seconds.

If a Priest chooses to become Shadow, he will need to have a certain stats on his gear. He needs to have a lot of spell power, spirit, intellect, hit rating and critical strike rating. For holy priests it is similar but they for them haste rating is much more important than the hit or crit rating.

Priest PvP

Priests are the secret champions of PvP, be it in the battlegrounds or arenas, regardless of their build. Find out how your own Priest can lay down a breathtaking performance in duels on the spot.

Competing in WoW PvP combat as a Priest requires a lot of forethought and planning. With an impressive amount of mana and a wide variety of healing spells, a Priest can be a strong PvP combatant. However, since they have a low health level and no armor, if an opponent can get past your Priest’s defenses, it’s all over. If you’re going to do well in Priest PvP combat, you have to have a smart plan. If you don’t, your Priest will be dying an awful lot.

This is why a quality Priest PvP Guide is crucial for getting the best possible results. A great guide will not only show you strategies and tactics your Priest can use against each class, but will give the Priest a good idea about how other classes will approach the fight too. A good Priest PvP Guide will also give you more than just a few standard strategies for Priests. It will show you exactly how to take on each of the other classes in one on one combat.

Priest Professions

As a priest or with any other class the profession selection is totally up to you and won’t make too much of an impact. Two professions I like to use as a priest are tailoring which I know a lot of other people who play priests like to pick up as well. Also one that I and a few other priests I know use is enchanting. These are two useful professions to have a priest because of the ability to make your own gear and enchant it.

Priest Leveling

The first thing you need to do is check your talent tree. One of the biggest reasons players can’t level up faster is because they don’t have the right build on their toon. You can either be the greatest healer in the game or one of the best PvP classes. It depends what you want to do in the end game. As far as leveling, you won’t have any problems going Shadowpriest. It’s not as fast as a hunter, but definitely is up there among some of the fastest classes.

A Shadow Priest is typicially feared in PvP by a lot of classes. You will notice if you can play a Shadow Priest semi-efficiently that you won’t have to worry about getting killed on a PvP server by anyone around your level. Shadow is definitely the best way to go if you’re going to be soloing.

Zygor’s Guide is the one we use and recommend.
