Leveling your Paladin is much the same as leveling other characters, but there are a few specific guidelines one should adhere to. In this WoW Paladin Guide you will learn a lot of simple things that you can do to get the most out of your character and thereby level up in the most effective way.

Paladin Summary

Paladins are one of the four hybrid classes in the game. They can do a little bit of everything and when it comes to leveling, they do it all very well. Killing a Paladin in PvE content is downright a pain – it takes a LOT of time to wear one down, with the healing, armor, and big heavy swings they can throw out there. Paladins have a ton of self-administered buffs, spells, and bubbles that you need to master if you even remotely plan on reaching the top tier of this class. Another big problem that sends so many people for a Paladin leveling guide is the mana issue. These guys are not casters by nature, but they use a lot of mana. So, as you can guess, they have woefully little in the way of Mana. If you don’t manage it well, it’s OOM for you.

Paladin Race

Alliance: Alliance gets the choice between three classes for that big bad mace wielder – Humans, Dwarfs, or Draenei. The Humans and Dwarfs are the old school Paladins from the beginnings of the game – so they’re set up with the basic stats you may want for this class.

That said, the Human race doesn’t offer much that’s very useful. It’s a bit boring too – though the starting area for humans is a cakewalk and travel is minimal to get to the next area (Westfall is right there). Dwarfs have Stoneform, which is unspeakably cool for any class, but their racial boosts are for ranged stuff. Not exactly a Paladin’s strongsuit. That leaves the Draenei who are great for any class – as is the case with most expansion add-on classes. If you’re aiming for a good Draenei Paladin, you could do much worse. Having the Gift of the Naruu is going to be HUGE early on when your own healing efforts are so limited.

Horde: Only one choice here, so that’s that. If you’re a Horde player and want a Paladin – it’s the Blood Elf or nothing (at least until Cataclysm hits). What does that mean? Not a whole lot really, though your ability to load up on the mana centered talents of a Blood Elf is nice for the mana hogs that are Paladins. A good class for this all the way around.

Paladin Leveling Talent Builds

Retribution Paladin Leveling Guide

As a Retribution Paladin your primary job is to hit things and to hit things hard. Just make sure to stay alive while doing it. Ret Paladins are all about swinging a big slow two handed weapon while being able to heal through any damage that may be taken. At lower levels Retribution leveling can seem somewhat boring and uneventful. You will spend most of your time killing 1-2 mobs at a time and doing it fairly quickly, but just not as quickly as most of us Ret buffs would like. Once you get Divine Storm you will find yourself making the most of your time by AOE leveling on 3-4 mobs at once. Because Divine Storm hits up to 4 targets and heals you as well it makes a good skill to AOE grind with. Here is my Paladin Retribution Spec from level 10 to 80.

Leveling a Protection Paladin

Well the obvious advantage is a holy Paladin is amazing at healing. This is why many people always try to get a Paladin in their Guild or party. Another great advantage of the holy paladin is they are very mana efficient, this comes in handy very often.

Some disadvantages is the Paladin Leveling is difficult because questing can sometimes be a challenge. Also grinding can be a challenge many times. So leveling a Paladin of this sort can be stressful, but in the end its a very rewarding experience.

Leveling a Protection Paladin

Trying to level as a Protection Paladin? I’d like to give you some tips on the best way to approach this task and tell you some of the advantages of leveling as a Protection Paladin in World of Warcraft. Paladin leveling of this type is fairly simple. Some advantages that a Protection Paladin has is this type of build has great buffs and is a great type of Paladin build if you’re using Grinding to level up.

The Protection Paladin has many different protection buffs that come right off of the protection talent tree. Using the different buffs that this build offers can help you in creating a very successful Paladin character. Leveling a Paladin of this build will be very easy because of these buffs, and Grinding will be very easy because I’ve had times where I could kill mobs of more than 15 monsters.

Leveling with a Protection Paladin also has the advantage of the different types of items you can use. My favorite item to use with this kind of Paladin is the augmenting holy shield. Also if you playing as this type of Paladin it would be in your best interest to work on your Reckoning, and Blessing of Sanctuary talents. The Protection Paladin is a great type of build you can use, and it’s my favorite build.

Profession Choices

With the introduction of the benefits of trade skills and the increase in how fast toons level now, I feel it has no down side to having a gathering profession while leveling. Just don’t spend all your time crafting things as well if you want to level as fast as possible. Here are some of the options you have to choose from.

Mining – Gather ore from nodes, in turn allowing you to either smelt the ore into bars, or sell/keep the ore. (Mining now also gives a stamina bonus based on what level the gather skill is) 450 skill now grants you +60 to your base stamina.

Herbalism – Gather plants from all around the land, either sell these on the auction house or pick up alchemy as well to create potions. You could also choose to do inscription and create glyphs as well as rare cards later on. (A good way to make some extra cash early on is using herbalism and selling the herbs. Herbalism now also gives you a heal over time type of spell, this is helpful for certain classes but as a Paladin you can already heal yourself fairly easily.)

Skinning – Skin all of the beast mobs you kill collecting furs and skins. (The bonus with skinning at max level is increasing your critical strike rating by 40 points.)

The three professions above are normally the better ones to choose while leveling as they will help you to collect and make some extra gold while leveling. I normally choose 2 gathering professions then when I hit 80 I drop them for two professions I can really benefit from, such as blacksmithing and jewel crafting.

Gear and Weapons

Gear for a good Retribution Paladin can be a pain in the backside. There are a lot of different things you’ll need as you level to keep those stats nice and even. You could be working on getting some more mana to maintain your seals and judgments or you could be focused on increasing your strength enough so that you can land some bigger hits with that hefty sword of yours.

At first, you’ll work with some basic mail armor – the key stats to aim for when you get started is Strength, then Intellect, then Stamina for some much needed health, Agility to too boost your critical attack rate, and Crit rating. That should set you up pretty well as you level up – well enough to keep the mana pool flowing and your damage blowing over anyone in sight.

When you reach Level 40, make sure to have a nice stock of Plate armor on hand. It’s going to cost a LOT to do this with gold, so save your quest rewards from level 33 on so that you can just swap over your stats when needed. If that fails, make sure to keep the right stats on equally leveled mail armor. Sometimes, those nifty healing boosts are only available when you load up on mail gear.

For your weapon, you want to find a big, heavy 2 handed sword to knock some teeth out and show who’s boss. Get the slowest weapon with the biggest damage range. Trust me, this will be the way to go with almost any melee class.

For more fast leveling info for all classes, including your Paladin, you will want to take a look at the Zygor leveling guides. With guides for both Horde and Alliance, these are by far the most useful leveling guides available and have a great map mod as well that makes life much easier in-game.

If you already play the World of Warcraft and choose the horde character then you certainly know the horde leveling guide is a powerful tool that will have you at level 80 in no time flat. It is known that leveling in Warcraft can be tricky for some people and a real pain for others. You will see how such a guide helped you make the impossible, possible.

What exactly is a leveling guide and how the guide will help?

It is a guide, which leads you through all the levels, so you don’t have to waste time on finding the right quests or other things. A guide will help you and direct you to the quests that are most important to helping you level quickly. There are some quests that give you less experience and take a lot more time to complete, making them, not worth your time if you are trying to level fast. These quests can be skipped. You will receive all the information you need right in your interface. Complete with dots on your map, coordinates and on screen arrows pointing you in the exact direction you need to head to either, pick up the quest, kill or collect items form mobs, or turn in and complete the quest at hand.

Get started with the best Horde leveling guide by doing the research before you buy. The guide should compatible with any race. All the starting areas are covered so you no longer need to travel to maximize your experience per level (or to keep in familiar territory.)

I recommend you to find an in-game 1-80 horde leveling guide. There are a lot of leveling guides in PDF format, but they are not so good because you have to alt+tab all the time to check what the guide says, besides they are not as accurate as in-game guides. The in game add on shows you exactly where to go and what to do, so there is NO confusion. Simply follow the arrow and you cannot get lost. For new players, or veterans, this addon makes leveling fast and easy.

The best guide should be downloaded into your game. It should be easy to install without complicated folders and file management. The guide should be easily updated as new patches to WOW are introduced.

Choose a horde leveling guide with a Risk Free money back guarantee. I know many of these guide are not refundable, and even many of them are fill with rubbish content.

It isn’t difficult to find a good Horde leveling guide for what you want to accomplish when you begin your search with the most popular ones. They include the Ultimate World of Warcraft guide, Zygor guides and Joana’s leveling guide. By looking at what they have to offer, you should give a pretty good idea of what you need.

Some Fast Horde Leveling Tips

Always do quests when you’re leveling up your horde character, The days of pure grinding on mobs are over and by doing quests not only that there’s a huge XP bonus from completing them, you also get equipment, money and reputation with various factions within the game.

Before you start your leveling session, make sure you character has the right spec for solo leveling. This way anyone should be able to complete all quests at a faster rate and increase the XP gain.

Always combine the quests, working on 3-4 at the same time. This is one of the most important part in Horde leveling guide. All the quests are grouped to maximize the leveling time, in a nicely optimized quest path for Horde.

The last (but not least) do not to group with others when doing quests and also to skip the hardest elite quests. Grouping with others for quests slows you down almost everytime.

Zygor’s Guide is the top-selling horde leveling guide out there and we have the review of Zygor’s latest version. Check it out for yourself, here.

In order to achieve leveling quickly you obviously need to get your hands on a really great WoW leveling guide as it will guide you on how to efficiently use your time. For instance, if you visit a certain area the guide should let you know what the quests are that are available there so that you can get the most accomplished in the least amount of time, that you would normally spend having to travel back and forth. Having the best WoW level guide is a must when playing this game & is well worth the small price they ask, Invest in one today & you won’t regret it.

We have listed below all the current best WoW leveling guides available on the web today, from both Alliance leveling guides and Horde leveling Guides.

Zygor’s Guide (Free Trial!) - #1 Alliance Leveling Guide

This Alliance Leveling Guide is the most comprehensive available. Users of this guide get to see first hand exactly how to get to level 80 in UNDER 7 days. What I personally love about this guide is the in-game guide. By installing a simple plug-in, you’ll virtually get your own leveling assistant that can be called on at any time! Zygor’s guide review.

Dugi´s Guide (Free Trial!) – Ultimate WoW Guide

Dugi´s guide has been called Ultimate WOW Leveling Guide for many years. This is an in-game guide that installs just like any other add-on. A big arrow comes up on the screen that shows you exactly where to go, what quests to get, and the order to do them in so that you can level as fast as possible. You will also be receiving class guides complete with talent builds, gold guides that show you the exact ways to make up to 500g per hour, PVP guides, and SO much more. The creator of this guide also updates the guide with every single patch and expansion and has great customer support. All your updates are free for life.

Dugi has updated it´s guide to version 3 recently. It complies with Blizzard´s new rules forbidding the direct sale of addons now. Dugi´s Ultimate guide Review.

Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide – #1 Horde Leveling Guide

If you are Horde and your only goal is to get level 80 as fast as possible, this is the guide for you. Although it doesn´t contain much help for professions and gold-making, this guide is handing down the fastest horde leveling guide out there. One of the things that really sets this guide apart is that you get to see real uncut video footage of the whole leveling process and beyond. This guide also comes with a level 70-80 add-on plus in game mod.

Team iDemise Guide

iDemise is the first in-game mode leveling guide. It brought a revolution to wow leveling guide, so we should thank to the contribution of iDemise for world of warcraft. Most of the articles said that iDemise is the best wow leveling guide. But, if you read these articles carefully, you will find that all of them were written when iDemise´s guide was publishing, it´s the only im-game guide at that time. However, all the wow leveling guides take an in-game mode now. It´s wise of you to choose a leveling guide which is more classic, more professional and more authoritative. So iDemise isn´t your best choice! Team IDemise Leveling Guide Review.

Now let’s talk about the WoW in-game leveling guide. It is the best, most user friendly one on the market today with an automatic waypoint generator which gives you an arrow pointing you in the right direction and a collapsible quest log which displays only the information for your current objective. It is easy to install and available directly from our site with all the needed addons so you don’t have to waste your valuable time going to several different sites.

Most of the WoW in-game leveling guides make exaggerated promises, and end up being huge disappointments. In my experience Zygor Guides and Dugi’s Ultimate WoW Guide are the only leveling guides that are capable of actually doing what they promise, and living up to the hype.

The first thing I always do with a new WoW in-game leveling guide, is I take it to the test by creating a new alt and playing until I’m level 30. If at level 30 I’m not satisfied with the /played, I’ll dump the guide. However, if I’m happy with the time played, I will keep on using the guide until I’m level 80 to find out what the final /played will be.

However, when deciding which is the best leveling guide, speed is just one aspect, and you should take into account other things like the ease of use and the price for instance.

If you want to get level 80 as soon as possible I recommend you to get a in game World Of Warcraft leveling guide. For a complete picture I suggest you read my leveling guide review:

The Undead leveling guide is the best one for fast levelling as an Undead character. This article, mainly explains a way for fast levelling through Tirisfal Glades as Undead character. It also gives you suggestive circuits for your class and profession of choice.

Undead have a very cool history. Once under the control of the Lich King, under the guidance of the Banshee queen, they broke free and forged their own society. Since some Undead would quite happily kill everything living, they have a tenuous alliance with the horde, and are almost universally hated by the alliance. As such they have poor faction relations.

There are possible class you can choose for the Undead like Dead Knight, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior. Death-knell, Trisfal Glades will be your starting locations.

The most basic problem for beginners is choosing the right talent build. I know a lot of new players, who are good at doing quests or killing mobs, but their talent build is terrible. These players spend months to get level 80 because they use a wrong talent build. As a general guideline, I recommend you to choose those talents, which increase your overall damage, instead of choosing healing or defensive talents.

I know, I said, a good undead leveling guide is the solution to your problem, but, actually, there is a better option, get an universal guides, which covers all races and classes. These guides are much better because, you will be able to use them if you start a new character. The best guides are fully automated, which means that they are built in the game, so you don’t have to alt+tab out to check what the PDF guide says. They automatically detects the best quests for your level and gives you a step-by-step instructions on what to do. They generate the best and fastest route to your next objective and place a red arrow in the middle of your screen pointing in the right direction. Find out how a complete newbie got his first level 80 character in no time!

If you want to get level 80 as soon as possible I recommend you to get a WoW leveling guide. Zygor’s Guide fits this bill, constantly showing you where to go and what to do, without ever leaving the game screen. Assuming you stay focused on leveling (as opposed to raids, PvP sessions, and endless Auction Housing) you should be able to hit 80 (from 1) in well under 10 days, and maybe as few as the 7 that Zygor claims.

Daily Quests were introduced in patch 2.1 and have since become an important aspect of World of Warcraft as a consistent source of gold, faction reputation and honor. When the Wrath of the Lich King expansion came out, daily quests became even more popular. Even though it may seem fairly easy to find your way around dailies having a good daily quest guide at your side would be a perfect solution to cover everything.

Dugi’s Daily & Event Quest Guide is something really special offered on the WoW market. This guide offers a detailed explanation of daily quests, what is the best way to cover them all and how exactly these quests will reward you.

Dugi’s Dailies guide consists of two parts. The first part is a pretty decent online guide that covers some of the Northrend dailies, as well as the seasonal events. The second part, you get an addon that will show you exactly where to go to do pretty much any combination of dailies that you can dream up. It’s really easy to setup, drag, drop, and enable like any other addon. Once you get in game, you’ve got a menu system that’s really easy to navigate that lets you choose your daily quest regimen for the day, and a big glowing arrow that points you in the direction of your next quest objective.

Dugi’s Dailies Questing Guide in an in-game WoW Guide written with one goal in mind. To help you complete and finish all the World of Warcraft Dailies in the fastest time possible. The guide is very well written and easy to follow with step-by-step instructios from picking up all the dailies you want to do, as well as instructions on how to finish them in the fastest time possible. I’m now a convert!! Doing dailies is part of my everyday world of warcraft routine.

The amount of daily quests possible for a player to do per day is 25. Most of the players do just a few they really like and don’t want to bother losing a whole day chasing the rest. Dugi has a video posted on his main page showing proof that he was able to do 25 daily quests in one hour using his own addon.

Lets take a closer look at the features:

The fastest way to complete daily quests and earn gold and rare items

In-Game add-on auto-detecting all the variable dailies

Prioritizes quests according to your reputation needs

Includes all 11 seasonal event guides

Earn Exalted reputation for unique mounts and rewards, fast and easy

Race through as many as 25 dailies in less than 2 hours

Complete video guides instruction included, showing how-to complete quests quickly

Instant updates as they are introduced in the game

No risk 8 week 100% money back guarentee

Introduction

World of Warcraft isn’t all about fighting the bad guys and levelling up. To draw you into the world’s story and encourage you to explore the vast continents, challenges can be accepted through a quest system. These can range from quick gathering quests to those that require you to complete a number of objectives to fully finish, to much lengthier endeavours requiring a group effort and many hours and days to complete.

Many of these quests offer coveted items and a good amount of experience points on completion. This will satisfy players with only a few hours free gaming time a week and those with considerably more free time to play.

To ensure that players always have something to do, something to explore, WoW ships with over 2000 quests for players to do, and all of these help to build up an engaging environment in the world of Azeroth. The game is set in a time about 5 years after the end of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, and hence many of the story and quest elements take off from there.

How to get Quests

All quests in the game cannot be accepted willy nilly, there are prerequisites needing to be met first. The level of your character, its reputation, race and class can play a part.

When walking into a town or area NPCs with quests for you will have a yellow exclamation mark above their head. Clicking on one of these NPCs will activate the quest window with a full description and brief overview and the rewards for completing the quest. There will be quests that list a selection of reward items so you can pick and choose which you prefer once you’ve completed the quest. Once you have accepted the quest, the full details will go into your Quest Log and you can refer to it at any time as you travel.

The table below details the different icons you can find above some NPCs heads and what they mean to your character.

There is a setting in Interface Options to set Instant Quest Text. This means when an NPC tells you the details of a quest it will pop into the window at once rather than slowly revealing the text.

Each quest log will give the title of the quest and a brief (usually 1 or 2 sentances) of what’s required of you listed as a bulleted list of each item/task if necessary. This will change as you complete the objectives. Below that is a more detailed description with a bit of back story. Lastly, the quest reward items and/or money will be listed. Any experience earned by completing the quest is not displayed but it will display in your chat window and middle of the screen when you hand in the quest.

When to do a Quest

Quests are a great way to explore the world and as all quests are level appropriate there’s no danger of finding yourself way out of your depth as far as opponents are concerned.

However, if you get a quest at an early level, say 10, and you don’t complete it until much later, say level 20, you will be rewarded the experience points of a level 10 character. The quests will not disappear from your Quest Log if you don’t do them. For example if you’re character level 33 you would best be adventuring in Desolace, Dustwallow Marsh, Alterac Mountains, Arathi Highlands and Stranglethorn Vale and picking up quests for Razorfen Kraul and Gnomeregan instances. Of course you can try higher level areas but take along a few friends if you do.

As with trade skill recipes quests are colour coded in your quest log in relation to your character level so you can determine which quests you should be doing now and which you should wait until you level up a little more.

Gray – Trivial. You will get reduced experience for doing this quest because it will be so easy for your character. The longer you leave it the less xp you’ll get.

Green – Easy for your character to complete.

Yellow – Relatively easy for your character complete.

Orange – Challenging.

Red – Very challenging. Take a friend, actually take two.

Dungeon – Instances such as Zul’Farrak, Deadmines, Scholomance or Maraudon.

Elite – Requires a group to complete.

Raid – Requires a large group.

Some quests can also be on a timer, the ‘race against time’ element adds some excitement. If you find yourself running out of time you can abandon the quest and re-request it again. The clock (as seen above) will sit just below your minimap until the time runs out or you complete the quest. It starts ticking down the moment you accept the quest from the NPC.

When you near an NPC who you are to hand a completed quest in and you’ve completed the quest a yellow marker will appear on the minimap. If you hover over this it will tell you the name of the NPC.

Tracking your Quests

You can track your quest through your Quest Log (Hotkey L) or you can track them in your game window. This means you don’t have to keep opening your Log to see where you are in a quest. There are also UIs that you can add to your WoW directory that further help you manage and monitor quests in WoW. None allow you to store more than 20 Quests in your log however.

There is a limit of 20 quests you can store in your quest log. Due to this, it is wise to try to complete all the quests in one area before moving on to the next one. Do not be afraid to abandon quests and go back to do them later, as you go along, you will learn how to manage your quests better, and obtain several quests involving the same monsters or region before doing them.

Types of Quests

There are so many different quests in WoW that this is actually a difficult question to answer. The most common ones involve killing certain enemies to collect certain items or simply to kill a certain number of some monsters. There are delivery quests that take you from place to place and lead you to new areas to explore, some of these are actually letters that you can read.

The more unusual quests include escorting NPCs from place to place, completing some objective within a time limit and finding a particular object or location in the world. There are quests to defend waves of enemy attacks and quests to infiltrate fortified areas and destroy some books and other things. There are even quests that make use of emotes, and some of the puzzle and riddle quests will have players scratching their heads.

Many players may decide to adventure together with the common objective of completing a single quest. WoW handles item collection quests in the following manner. If the collection quest is to collect from normal monsters, each player would have to get that amount individually. However, if the item to collect drops from a named boss or monster, each and every player will get to loot the quest item. The game will generate one quest item per party member for such bosses. No more boss camping in order to get a quest item for each person in the group. The whole group will also get credit for killing the boss and not just the person who performed the killing blow.

Additionally, players will be rewarded for paying attention to their game environment. Some quests actually start from objects on the floor, and many towns have “Wanted Posters” that also start quests to hunt down some criminal.

A few examples of quests types are:

Strange Alliance – “Gain a Friendly reputation with the Gelkis, then speak with Uthek the Wise.”

Compendium of the Fallen – ” Retrieve the Compendium of the Fallen from the Monastery in Tirisfal Glades and return to Sage Truthseeker in Thunder Bluff.”

Troll Temper – “Bring 20 Vials of Troll Temper to Trenton Lighthammer in Gadgetzan.”

Grim Message – “Gather Witherbark Skulls and place on Nimboya’s Pike. Place

Nimboya’s Laden Pike at one of the Witherbark Villages in the Hinterlands, then return to Nimboya in Stranglethorn. “

There are quests specific to class or profession, it’s highly advisable to do quests of this nature, they will help you progress your chosen class and the professions you’ve opted for. Also, Cooking, Fishing and First Aid require you to complete quests in order to gain Artisan rank.

Sharing Quests

A party can share quests between them if they meet the requirements. Simply stand nearby your party member, click on the quest in your log and hit ‘Share Quest’. If they meet the requirements the quest description will pop up on their screen and they can hit accept. This is great if your party member is out in the field and you don’t wish to wait for them to return to town to pick up the quest.

You can also see which people on your friends list or in your guild share the quests you have when you’re offline allowing you to co-ordinate efforts if you have particular quests you’d like to get complete that require more than one person to do so.

There are restrictions to quest sharing. Quests that activate or start from items cannot be shared since the other person does not have that item. Additionally, only the first part of a multi-part quest can be shared.

You can see if anyone in your party has the same quest as you by the number in brackets next to the quest name in your Quest Log.

Quest Rewards

Rewards are wide ranging, from equipment that is found nowhere else to useful items and potions, and even recipes for some tradeskills. All of these are also usually accompanied by a good amount of experience points and money. Other quests may have long term benefits to the player such as opening up new Gryphon routes making it easier to traverse the vast game world. Quests have other benefits by giving players new skills. For example, many of the classes have specific class quests in which players must complete in order to learn some of their more advanced skills.

To recap on Quests

You do not need to do every quest in the game.

Can abandon a quest and re-request it later.

Quest log can hold a maximum of 20 quests.

Can share quests with party members as long as they meet the requirements.

Quest rewards are soulbound so no trading, sell what you don’t need to vendors.

Quests are colour coded in relation to your current character level.

Quest items will continue to drop as loot for as long as it takes all party members with that quest to collect what’s needed.

Some quest-related items classed as ‘quest items’ can be traded with other players.

You can improve your reputation with certain factions through questing.

If a quest objective is to kill a boss and you are dead, on your way back to your corpse, and the boss is killed, you will be credited with the kill. If you have resurrected but haven’t made it back to the action and the boss is killed you will not be credited with the kill.

If you need to free up space in your Quest Log abandon grey quests, by that stage the rewards won’t be desirable and the MoBs you will need to kill to complete the quest will award no XP anyway.

Changes that have made PvP (player versus player) combat a much bigger part of the World of Warcraft. That’s probably why you’re reading this right now. And that’s why you need the PvP Bible, the leading WoW PvP guide.

World of Warcraft currently offers 3 types of server for players to play on, each offering a different ruleset in terms of how PvP is implemented in the game. These are called the “Standard Player vs. Environment Server” and the “Horde vs. Alliance Race War Server” which we will abbreviate to PvE and PvP (Player V Player) server respectively. On both servers, players will not able to attack other players on their own faction other than through a duel, keeping in line with the game world and lore.

The PvE servers are further split into two – PvE standard and PvE Role-playing both have the same combat rulesets however players have an expectation to roleplay there character when typing text on a role-playing server. For simplicity in this guide both
PvE servers will come under the one heading – PvE.

Terminology

Honorable Kill (HK) - An honorable kill is gained when you kill an opposing faction member of a similar level. This varies and is very similar to the experience point system. Characters who are more than 12 levels lower than yourself at level 60 will not give you any HKs. This scales down slightly for lower level players. HK’s give players Honor Points (HP) which are essential for progression in the PvP ranking system.

Honor Points (HP) – Honor points were formerly known as contribution points. Once a player obtains a HK he will be assigned some honor points. Honor points can be gained in three ways : (1) Killing players of a similar level to yourself. (2) Killing racial faction leaders. (3) winning objectives in battlegrounds / killing NPCs in Battlegrounds.

A level 60 player killing another level 60 player will get more honor points than a level 30 player killing another level 30 player. The only NPCs which give out honor are special faction NPCs you cannot gain honor from killing normal mobs / or normal NPCs.

Dishonorable Kill (DK) – A Dishonorable kill is obtained by killing a low rank NPC character from the opposing faction. These characters are usually quest givers, vendors etc. DK’s reduce your PvP ranking significantly so they should be avoided at all costs. More on Dishonorable kills later on.

Mobs – Mobs is a term used to describe PvE opponents, for example spiders, kobolds, orcs etc. A mob is any computer controlled opponent.

PvP Ranking System – Players who compete in battlegrounds and who hunt down and kill players on the opposing faction will move up rank. The first level is rank 1, all the way upto rank 14. It should be noted that it is very difficult to do well in the PvP system unless you are very high level, 60 is recommended. That’s not saying that your task to get to rank 14 at level 50 is not impossible, its just it is very difficult and that your time would be best spent obtaining a high level before you participate in the PvP system full time.

Battlegrounds – Currently there are two Battlegrounds. Alterac Valley is located in Alterac and can be entered from either on site in person, or you can sign up through a Battele master at either Iron Forge (Alliance) or Ogrimmer (Horde) Warsong Gulch can be found on the border of Ashenvale forest and the Barrens and can be entered in a similar fashion.

Warsong Gulch – This is a 10V10 capture the flag style battleground on a fairly small map. This Battleground is designed for very fast play and can usually be won in around the 15-45 minute mark. More on WSG later on.

Alterac Valley – This is a 40 man V 40 man battleground and is designed for more strategic play where players can capture guard towers, graveyards and call in air strikes. Alterac takes a lot longer to complete, anywhere from 1 hour 15 to 6 hours depending on your team. It is also advisable to join Alterac during peak time as on some servers it can be hard to get in due to the 60 players required to start one.

The following actions will enable a player’s PvP flag on the PvE server:

Attacking an NPC of the opposing faction (NPCs with a faction are clearly marked)

Attacking a player who attacked an NPC

Aiding a player engaged in PvP

Enable PvP by using the /pvp command

Walking into an enemy faction city

Once PvP has been enabled by a player regardless of the method, it will remain in effect for five minutes and players from the opposing faction will be able to attack him.

Additionally, Area of Effect spells will not activate PvP. This means that if a player of the opposing faction with PvP enabled walks into your AoE spell effects while you are fighting monsters, your spell will not damage them and activate PvP for you. If your PvP flag is already on, your AoE spell will damage enemy players (those with PvP enabled) as normal.

The whole scoop is that you are not forced to participate in PvP unless you willingly join in such a fight. However, there will be times where some NPCs will not be available because they have been killed by the opposing faction. In such situations, players will have to wait for the NPC to respawn, which typically takes about 5 minutes. Note that it is illegal to camp and kill the same NPC repeatedly.

Player Vs. Player Servers

The PvP server is designed for players who wish to be able to participate in PvP while adventuring throughout the lands. Players from opposing factions will be able to attack each other on sight in most parts of the world, lending to a much more rewarding and exciting experience because you are always constantly in danger of being attacked by other players. This is truly the World of Warcraft, where the races are in constant conflict with each other.

Some players will recognise this system of PvP as being Faction vs Faction (FvF). For the purposes of World of Warcraft, the FvF and PvP mean the same thing, even Blizzard calls their servers “PvP servers”, it’s just a metter of semantics.

However, there are many things to consider before deciding to play on the PvP server. You will be killed by players 30 levels higher than you. You will be corpse camped.

Your questing might be disrupted completely. Hide and seek is a common game. If you are strongly against many of the unfair PvP combats and encounters that will occur randomly whenever Alliance and Horde players see each other, this server is
not for you. While all this does sound discouraging, Blizzard has many policies against griefing.

On the PvP server, various zones will be designated as Friendly, Contested or Enemy territories, coloured Green, Orange and Red respectively. When you enter a new zone, you will be informed of its status. The mini-map is also colour coded to indicate who controls the current zone.

Players in friendly territories are safe unless they decide to engage an opposing faction player in combat.

Players in enemy territories will always be at risk and can be attacked by all players that belong in the territory.

All players can be attacked in neutral (contested) territories.

Blood Elves are relatively new to the world of WoW, as they were introduced in the expansion The Burning Crusade. They are one of the best races, as they possess the best racial spells for solo and PvP. Unfortunately, if you just started to play with a blood elf, it may take months to get level 80. The perfect solution for these beginner players are a leveling guide. Read on to find out more on leveling blood elf!

Talents

It is very usual among new players, that they don’t design their talent build or design a wrong one. It is a very big mistake. The most important thing in the leveling process is choosing the right, the most appropriate talent build. With a good talent build, you will dash through the levels, while with a bad one it will take a long time to get even level 60. I recommend you to choose those talents that provides you extra damage.

Add-ons

Unfortunately, vast majority of beginner players don’t know what add-ons are, so they don’t use them. What a huge mistake! Add-ons are built in scripts to WoW, which are completely legal, so feel free to use them! Some good add-on can drastically increase your leveling speed. If you are wondering how is it possible, that your friend can gain 3 or more levels a day at higher levels, it is very likely that he or she uses a good leveling add-on. For example, my personal favorite is the Cartographer, which unveils the whole map, so you always know where to find quest items or mobs. It is fantastic.

The Best Blood Elf Leveling Guide

There are a lot of blood elf leveling guides, but some of them are not worth them money. I recommend you to get a quality universal guide instead of a specific blood elf leveling guide, since an universal guide covers all the information for all the races in addition to the required information for blood elf leveling. The best guides are very complex in-game add-ons so they automatically updates their quest logs according to your current level, all you need to do is to follow the step-by-step instructions.

Level from 1-80 in a small amount of time that is 7-9 days on a brand new Blood Elf using Zygor’s blood elf leveling guide.
