Warlock Leveling Guide

Warlock is among the the most powerful PvE classes if played correctly, and with the right talent tree you’ll be almost invincible while soloing, and experience zero downtime.

The most effective soloing tree is Affliction, since it is extremely powerful and mana efficient when leveling, which results in a Warlock that never needs to eat or drink.

The main purpose of this build is to make best use of your mana efficiency while keeping a really high DPS up. This will help you to continue killing without stop. The very first ability you need to pick up, should be the Improved Corruption. Improved Soul Drain can help your mana efficiency, while Soul Siphon and Improved Life Drain will increase your overall effectiveness.

Fel Concentration is one of the best talents in the Affliction tree, as it will help you to ‘drain-tank’ your enemies. This means, that you find a target, apply some DoT damage (Corruption,Curse of Agony etc.), Lifetap to regain the used mana, and Life Drain your target until its death. The following talents should be the Grim Reach and Nightfall. Siphon Life is yet another great talent, as it can help your damage and mana efficiency extremely. Finally, at level 40, you will get the best talent in the affliction tree: the Dark Pact.

This talent enables you, to use your pet as a mana pool: you will have the ability transfer your pet into mana. At this time, virtually, you will have unlimited mana!

The basic Affliction Warlock Leveling Spec is as follows:

  • Improved Curse of Agony – Rank 2/2
  • Suppression – Rank 3/3
  • Improved Corruption – Rank 5/5
  • Improved Drain Soul – Rank 2/2
  • Improved Life Tap – Rank 2/2
  • Soul Siphon – Rank 2/2
  • Improved Fear – Rank 2/2
  • Fel Concentration – Rank 3/3
  • Nightfall – Rank 2/2
  • Empowered Corruption – Rank 2/3
  • Shadow Embrace – Rank 1/5
  • Siphon Life – Rank 1/1
  • Shadow Mastery – Rank 5/5
  • Contagion – Rank 5/5
  • Dark Pact – Rank 1/1
  • Improved Howl of Terror – Rank 2/2
  • Malediction – Rank 3/3
  • Unstable Affliction – Rank 1/1
  • Pandemic – Rank 1/1
  • Everlasting Affliction – Rank 5/5
  • Haunt – Rank 1/1

After getting these talents the rest of your options are really under your control; I’d recommend finishing out talents like Empowered Corruption and grabbing other useful talents you passed up along the way.

When choosing this class as, is is required to know first the importance of the warlock class. The warlocks are the the top crowd controllers in WoW. Using the Fear spells at maximum is the key element to be successful in PvE and PvP as well. But you have to be extra careful though, fearing a mob unwisely, will make it run back to the camp where it was pulled from and bring all its friends with it.

Warlock leveing gear

When I’m leveling a warlock, I usually enhance my spell power and critical chance to inflict more damage. The other important things for leveling are your spirit and mana, to be able to keep the mobs with the juicy XP coming without a stop. As leveling gear, also make sure to get spacious bags and soul bags, so you’ll never be forced to go and sell the loot every 30 minutes. Also, don’t spend the money on equipment, when leveling. The gear from the quests is good enough for leveling, keep the cash for mounts.

Warlock leveing profession

No wonder that the best tradeskills a warlock can train are tailoring and enchanting. Tailoring will provide some gear along with the leveling. If the crafted gear doesn’t meet the warlocks requirements, they can always be disenchanted for the magical “goodies”.

If you want to level in WoW fast, then I recommend you to stay away from leveling guides because they will instantly catapult you to level 80. But, if you would like get level 80 as quickly as possible, I recommend you to check out the best warlock leveling guide. Actually, nowadays, there is no longer a warlock leveling guide, as all the good automated guides, cover all the classes.
